Nearly a week ago a nasty thunderstorm roared through our neighborhood. While this is not our car, it is Mrs. Dorothy's car who lives four houses down from us.
Just look at the size of the tree.
It split that poor car right in half. Now Dorothy says she finally got that sunroof.
There were trees littering the streets in our neighborhood.
Even in our own backyard . . .
. . . and laying over the power lines that also run through our backyard.
Eventually a cavalry of Xcel Energy crews and tree removal crews appeared on our street . . .
. . . and in our backyard. It was about time too, we were without power for far too long.
We feel really bad for Mr. Dick across the street. He lost his second of four GIANT pine trees in his front yard in the past three years. This past storm took the second. Another tree crew came and cut it down.
It's truly amazing how fast three people and a truck with a massive wood chipper can remove a tree.
