We watched Denard Span push Brian Dozier across the plate with a two-out single in the bottom of the fifteenth inning to win the longest game in Target Field history 5-4.
But first, we had to get there. We took the light rail of course.
We stopped for lunch downtown at a place that let us make our own pizza.
By gametime, we were there and ready to cheer on our Twins.
We kept forgetting about Mommy's injured hand in all our excitement.
Despite the consistent rain through seven innings we cheered our team to a 4-4 tie.
As the rain continued, we made sure to wear our rally caps every time the Twins took the plate.
And all that rain made it really chilly too.
The the worst thing happened. Normally on Sunday's the Twins let kids run the bases after the game. This time, thanks to an all out downpour they knew was coming, they cancelled the kids base running. We were pretty devastated, and wet.
When the sky opened up, we sought shelter in the left field bleachers, grabbed a snack along the way, and waited for the game to resume.
Three innings later we were watching our team mob Denard Span in the outfield.
What a great, and exhausting day.
