Today was a great day. Check out this list of activities: out to breakfast, Children's Museum, out to lunch, the park, and pizza for dinner. Unfortunately, all we have to show for it is this photo of Jax's wound caused by over-excitement on the swing at our park. Nice going Daddy.
Climbing is awesome. It's certainly great to climb on furniture, or Daddy, or each other . . .
. . . but climbing a mountain is another thing entirely, a much awesomer thing entirely. There is only one thing better than climbing all the way to the top . . .
. . . Jumping off.
It's been a long time since we've been to Teddy Bear Park. We had a great time then (here and here), but this slide with a window was not something we remembered.
This time we met a bunch of friends there and spent a lot of time in the sand.
Charley: "Momma called the doctor and the doctor said... What did the doctor say??"
Jax: "Momma called the doctor and the doctor said... go to the bank and buy some money and go to daycare and go down the slide."
- Charley and Jax singing about their health care and their finances upon waking up from their nap.
It was a beautiful morning. The apple orchard was calling. One of our favorite apples is ready.
Crisp, tart, sweet, juicy, early-ripening Paula Reds.
They were so awesome, we had to have two at a time.
Anna and Sophia joined us. Apparently they're not big apple fans. They ate them too.
We picked so many, we could barely carry the bag.
We met up with Anna and Sophia at the apple orchard today. It just opened for the season. Man, are those apples awesome right from the tree. Anna was so nice to share . . .
It's important to always return a favor with an equally good favor . . .
. . . and definitely don't leave anyone out. Sophia got a couple bite too.
Last, but not least, share with your family too.
We have some pretty awesome friends in Anna and Sophia. We do all kinds of stuff together. We're not really sure why, but they'll go with us just about anywhere. Including on top of these giant hay bales.
It's hard to beat good friends. Perhaps only a good brother can do that.
No, there's nothing chasing us, it's just so great to finally know how to use those red things attached to the front wheel of our bikes. They help us go, who knew?
But, do you notice what is more exciting than that? Our world has expanded a bit. We were allowed to pedal our bikes in the street.
Don't worry, we were closely supervised and there was a rule too. We had to be using the pedals on our bike while we were in the street.
It doesn't really matter on what. Turns out, we'll pain on anything, even our faces.
While at the Children's Museum the other day, we painted on our faces and some paper.
We seriously need one of these easels at our house. How cool would that be?
Check it out, we're pretty good if we do say so ourselves.
Yeah, apparently that's how you spell the name of our third favorite dog, Clifford (Hairy and Anni are our first favorite dogs). We met a few friends at the Children's Museum the other day.
Anna and Sohpia were the real reason we were there.
Clifford was just an added bonus. We poked his nose; it says "BEEP".
He got some hugs too.
The time has come. We've been living with Mommy and Daddy long enough.
We found this great place that's just perfect for the both of. Don't worry Mommy and Daddy, it's not too far away. We'll visit often for free food and to use the washer and dryer.
We didn't think about was all the extra work we're gonna have now that we have our own place.
The grass isn't going to cut itself now is it.
All that work can sure work up an appetite.
A special thanks to our awesome neighbors, Mr. Wayne and Mrs. Karen, who gave us first dibs on all this awesome stuff before they sold it at their garage sale.
"I'm a dolphin. I do handstands."
"In September I will eat cake."
"Mommy! This is surprising!"
- Jax exclaimed about riding on the big swing and the slide on his tummy.
"Running around in the grass and hurting myself. That was fun."
- Charley was thankful for the activity during bedtime prayers.
Webmaster's note: This idea was sparked out of the humorous conversations that were taking place today. Hopefully this can be an occasional feature from now on.
We woke up from our nap today to a wonderful surprise. We knew we were going to see Grandma and Bumpa but Daddy did not tell us we were meeting them at a beach.
We've never been to a beach here so we were a little nervous at first.
With a little help from Bumpa we ventured into the lake and found the waves to be super gentle.
Of course we had our watering cans with us. It was fun we never wanted to end.
However, it got really cold and cloudy. The menacing clouds were on the other side of the lake and it looked like it was getting ready to rain. We were really cold too.
It seemed like we just got there and it started to rain. It was a cold rain. So we packed up and headed toward the car. It was an unfortunate turn of events.
We tried to get away when Mommy and Daddy were loading the car, but it was really too cold and too rainy to continue swimming so we went to Grandma and Bumpa's house for dinner . . .
. . . a picnic dinner by a warm fire. That's right, we had a fire in August and it felt great.
But man were we tired. It was a crazy fun afternoon.
