On their last night in town, the Grandparent's Stro and Great Grandma Dodie took us for ice cream.
It was the greatest stuff we've ever had - cold, sweet, and really sticky.
We sank our teeth into those cones over and over and over.
When can we have ice cream again?
ICE CREAM!!!!

We touched the trucks

It was touch a truck night. Check out the size of this trash truck ("dass duck"). It was by far the coolest one there.
We even got to drive it. Charley steered while Jax worked the pedals.

Danger is our middle name

Have no fear, it wasn't on and it certainly wasn't extended up to power lines.
Nevertheless, we had a great time climbing all over this lineman's cherry-picker truck too.

FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!

Not Really. We just ended the evening on a fire truck. It was pretty big, not as big as the trash truck though.
We became honorary fire chiefs.
Man was it a long day though. It's tough being a firefighter, a lineman and a trash man.

Ahhhhh, nature
We waited for the rain to let up all morning. When it finally did, we decided to head to the zoo.
We were there for maybe 30 minutes when it started pouring. We got totally soaked. Man was it fun though.
We decided to go up to see the big cats from above instead of going into their house. Big mistake. The rain caught us with no nearby shelter. We went as quick as we could to the nearest tree.
When it let up, it was still really wet out. We helped Grandpa Stro with the wagon as we walked past the giraffes.
Beautiful butterflies

We checked out the new butterfly exhibit at the zoo too. This kind was our favorite. It's really big and kind of looks like a tiger.
It attracted quite a crowd every time we saw it.
Wow. Cool.
Three snacking monkeys
Lots of "peepee ga-gow's

We also went to the conservatory while we visited the zoo. So many pretty flowers ("peepee ga-gows), so little time.
They also have these cool steps to climb up and down in the sunken garden.
And a great big jungle too, that Grandma and Grandpa Stro pulled us through.
Rain, rain, go away. . .
. . . we want to go to the zoo today.
We don't want to stay inside and play. But, we'll watch the rain with Great Grandma Dodie any day.
Then we'll steal her cane ("big stick") if we may.
difficulty walking
It happened so suddenly. One minute we're spinning with Grandma Stro - the next minute we've completely forgotten how to walk.

Uptown or downtown?
It totally depends on the temperature of the water.

Grandma's STROytime

Grandma Stro just thought this was the silliest book. Finally, someone with good taste in literature.

Flying tugboat

So it was a tugboat, but it wasn't really flying. It was on the roof of the Science Museum we went to today.
Grandma Stro helped us navigate . . .
. . . and we gave steering the big thing a try too.

Going rustic

We spent a lot of time with the huge wooden doors on the front of a replica of a traditional Hmong home.
We also tried cooking a little lunch, but it didn't work out so well.

Grandma Stro fed us to the dinosaurs

This is supposed to be the size of a dinosaurs tummy.
Wow!
It's so big, you could fit about 30 of us in here.

Catch and weigh

There was also a great big fish tank there with all kinds of fish like crappies and walleye.
And a scale to weigh your fish, or yourself. We're still not on the charts.

Cruisin' with Dodie

Great Grandma Dodie has this contraption with wheels that's kind of like ours. She gave us rides throughout the Science Museum.

Weather watching

One area had all this weather stuff, including a wind machine that levitated a ball . . .
. . . and no, this is not our first rock concert, it was another machine that makes a tiny tornado.

Rumblies in our tumblies

After a long, fun morning at the Science Museum, we went to Cossetta's for lunch. We had nunu's with cheese, bread, graham crackers (gam gaga's), chips, pretzels and milk. It was great.

Visitors

Grandma and Grandpa Stro came and so did Great Grandma Dodie. We started the bonding process right away taking things out of Grandpa's pocket.
We knew exactly what we were going for.

Just another day outside

Mommy went shopping with Grandma today so we got to play outside with Daddy . . . and our neighbor, Mrs. Karen's pretty flowers ("peepee gagow").
We also did a little off-roading with the bus . . .
. . . and watched the Anni and Hairy through the front door.

We're not in the street . . . SEE

Look, we're very close, but we are NOT in the street.
We know we're not supposed to go in the street, but it's just so interesting. So, we get as close as we possibly can.

Up - Down
Two little monkeys jumping on the bed. Don't worry, no one fell off and no one broke their heads.
Daddy and Mommy were hanging new shelves in our room today so we hung out together in Jax's crib.

Aboom, aboom, aboom

The other day we got to swim ("aboom") at the city pool.
We splashed our feet in the water while sitting on the edge . . .
. . . we ran in and out of the zero-depth (huh?) end of the pool . . .
. . . and we crawled through these giant pipes with steering wheels on them. It was so much fun
