Can we get a little help here? We can't drive the car, take a nap and change our diapers all at the same time. Being on the road sure is fun nonetheless.
Mommy and Daddy did let us out of our seats every so often. In this case, they put us in a booth at a restaurant in the middle of nowhere Iowa.
It didn't really matter though, we were starving. The deep-fried shoe-string onions and nachos were pretty good to us road-weary travelers.
Home sweet home (almost)
The last morning
We think this is it. Supposedly we're driving home today. It truly was a long strange trip. Wish our parent's luck in driving us home. It will be interesting.
Hanging out with our new friend Tommy has been fun.
Exhausting, but fun.
And we're back in Kansas, AGAIN
The next several posts will be from our great Midwest road trip of 2007. We are currently traveling from Iowa to Missouri to Kansas before heading home. What a long strange trip it's been. Enjoy!
Great Grandma Lawson was there to greet us. She was telling us the she had twins when she was mommy and daddy's age. No wonder she's so good with us.
No one seems to believe that our fingers taste good.
Not in Kansas anymore, at least for now
At least for us it was. Our new friend Emmy, yes we made up after this, wasn't so happy sitting next to us "stinky boys."
After a little bit of staring...
...Emmy was brave enough to crawl, and sometimes walk, up to us.

Texting with Katie, we're so cool.
Great Grandma McDonald knew what she was doing. If she would ever sit down, we could sit with her more.
Our grandma Cathy came to Kansas from Texas. It's always good to see her.
We were busy in Kansas
Crazy great uncle Jim liked to play with our feet. Weird.
Great aunt Lori wasn't so crazy. We liked hanging around with her.
Finally, a MIZZOU fan in the midst of all the K-State and KU fans. Jim is alright with us.

We met Danele and her Kendal. A lifetime ago Mommy worked with Danele, so we were told.
Grandma and Kinsey came up from Texas too. Grandma read us, Kinsey and Kendal a book. Say that three times fast.
They kept us well occupied, even though Kendal liked to steal our toys. That's OK, we're getting pretty good at sharing...
...or not.
A new trick
We had some down time so we learned to get our feet into our mouths. It only required taking my sock halfway off.
At The Examiner
Still more people to meet. We bonded with Paul, one of Daddy's old co-workers, right away. He's a pro at this baby stuff.
Julie was pretty great too, but Jax still prefers Piglet, as he does with most people.
In Missouri

Debbie's definitely the better half, not nearly so scary.
This seems strangely like home, although the dog is the wrong color.
These two are alright. They got right down on the floor with us and everything. Good times for sure.
Oh come on!! We realize we're cute, but this is ridiculous.

At the Valet's
"Peek-a-boo," says Brandon to Charley. Eventually we were able to get out of our car seats.
Isabelle had some quality bonding time with Jax.
So did Will, but he had to share with Piglet, or maybe Will bonded with Jax who bonded with Piglet. Mmmmmmm, pork.
At the Hunter's
FEET!!! Jackson can grab his. The Hunter kids can grab theirs.
Isaac had to get on the floor to properly introduce himself to Charley. 
It was a little easier for Joshua, face-to-face.
At ACT (Mom's old work)
Upon our arrival, among many other people, we met Kathy. She and Jackson got along really well.
Ed and Kristy were pretty fun too (despite Charley's reaction). Let's call it peek-a-boo.
The meet-and-greet was short lived before they put us to work.
All that meeting and all that working makes us hungry boys. Will's fingers will have to do.
ACT reprise
Nothing like thumb-sucking and snuggling with Kristin.
Except hanging out with Jess, do you recognize him? He was on The Wonder Years. Our first brush with fame, so exciting.
Don't tell Ken (sorry we missed you).
Back with Kathy again, admiring the fine work of the ACT grounds crew.
